Admiral Nelson:
This is to inform you that on 3/12/08 at 1711 GMT in position L 35-00.0N Long 075-00.0W the good ship ARGO MAINE and her faithful crew did launch and deploy 4 NOAA drifter buoys as well as the “messages in bottles” that had been entrusted to our care from the good students of ADAMS SCHOOL. Pictures will soon follow. Please keep us informed of the buoys status. We are very interested to know if they are all broadcasting properly.

Our current position as of 3/15/08 1300LT is 14 NM off Fort Pierce Inlet Fl. Our ETA to the US NAVY base in the Bahamas is 3/16/08 2000LT

An interesting side note: As we passed the NASA facilities on Cape Canaveral last night at 0210, we had a front row seat for the launching of a “DELTA 2” rocket that the Air Force was using to send  another satellite into space.

I remain your faithful servant
