We were not able to reschedule the games against Blue Hill that were canceled. The playoff games are as followed:
Girls- Tuesday Feb. 7th Castine @ Surry 4:00 Boys- Wednesday Feb.8th Castine @ Penbrook 4:00 (this game will be played in Brooksville)

New After School Activities:
Travers Evans and Katrina Dagan are creating a recreational calendar for the months of March, April, May and the first week of June. They are looking for volunteers to help supervise activities and also volunteers to lead activities. Activities will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays directly after school until 3:30pm. They will be open to kindergarten through 8th graders and pre-K students with parental supervision. Activities we have planned so far are:
Basketball-Craig Dagan-MMA Women's Coach-March Wiffleball-Eric Sabean-MMA Athletic Director-March Cross Country-Ryan King-MMA Cross Country Coach-March/April Field games, jump rope, frisbee golf, -Katrina Dagan-MMA Coach-May Yoga/Zumba-Kristen Wentworth-MMA Resident Director-certified instructor-May-tentative Lacrosse-Adam Sherman-MMA Lax Coach-May Climbing Wall/Floor Hockey-Travers Evans-April Track and Field-Johanna Evans-Former UMO Runner-May Flag Football-Chris McKenney-MMA Football Coach-May/June
If you are available to help supervise or are interested in leading an activity please email Katrina.Dagan@mma.edu or Travers.Evans@mma.edu and we will plug you into the calendar. Open dates are; March 26, 28, April 2, 4, 30,. We are hoping to have at least 2 or 3 supervisors for each day. We hope to finalize and mail out the calendar by the second week of February.
Ryan King, the men's and women's cross country coach at MMA, is organizing a 6 week cross country clinic for Castine children. This activity will begin on Tuesday, March 13 and run for each Tuesday through to April 24 (Tuesday the 17th they will not meet due to school vacation). Children may ride the bus to MMA or be dropped off at 2:15. This program is designed for kids with a goal in mind over the 6 weeks to complete a 1 mile race at the end. Permission slips will be sent home in the next week. If you have questions please email Ryan.King@mma.edu
Garden Club with Mrs. Lameyer on Thursdays from 2:10-3:30 for students in grades 1-4. This program will run through March 22. Please contact Mrs. Lameyer for more information. Parental permission will be required before participation begins.
Robotics/Lego Club (for students in grades 2-4) will begin with Mrs. McFadden and Ms. Ashmore on Tuesdays from 2:15-3:00 beginning next week, 2/8. Parental permission will be required before participation begins. Slips will be sent home with students in grades 2-4.
The Castine Soccer Kids program will begin on Wednesday, 2/8 from 2:15-3:15 PM. It is open to students in grades K-8, and any home schooled kids in the area in the applicable age range, and is free of charge. Children will be grouped by age. Pre-K students may also attend if a parent is present. The students will ride the bus from school and Travers will meet them at arrival. Please contact the office for more details or to pick up the required permission slip. All permissions slips are due to the school office before the first session.

Otter House is offering an Evening of Child Care on Saturday, February 11th, from 4-11pm. $20 per child, or $30 per family for the entire evening. Space is limited. To reserve a spot, or for information, call 326-0600.
Brooksville Elementary School will be hosting a community breakfast from 7:00 AM-9:30 AM to benefit the Sedgwick Elementary School Student Activities Fund. Breakfast will include: eggs to order; home fries; pancakes; bacon; sausage; baked beans; fruit salad; home baked pastries; juice; and coffee. The cost is $6.00 a person and $15.00 per family. Contact the school for more information @ 326-8500.
